Yes, that's all that needs to be done. Convert the Garmin to GPX for the Simrad to read the file and then plug it in the Simrad and transfer them from the card to the unit's waypoint list.

I do not think that is correct. it should be a version number or something like that. Navico would not name it " unknown" and the dms extension does not sound correct.

We would recommend the Navionics for detailed mapping of the bottom and contours. However, remember some of the data may not be quite as accurate as normally is because of the storms and hurricanes....

We use gpsbable or Seamarks.
