1980's VDO oil pressure gauge and sender

I have a 1988 tiara with VDO gauges. My oil pressure gauge jump erratically between 20-40. I figured I'd try a new sender but I don't know what kind to get. I'm pretty sure the ohms works backwards...

We don't think that is the problem because when we disconnected the map sensor we were able to get it to run. Once it warms up we can plug map sensor back in and it runs but runs very rough.
