fuel filter cleaning solvent?

Yamaha F60 manual recommends "cleaning fuel filter element in a suitable solvent".....
Any ideas which solvent is suitable?

I only put Chevron gas in my 4 strokes. Its on the way to the ramp & price is similar to others.

Aloha all:

Noticed that the new models of Yamaha F60 outboards have 17 amp alternators.

My '04 F 60's only put out 10 amps at 4500+rpm.

Question: Is it possible to retro fit the new high...

Took the old one into the local auto shop & we were able to match it using some metric hardware.
Sorry don't know the size but it was metric. A standard 1/4- 28...

Tedj101: Read my post recommendation carefully.I recommended non-rechargeable lithium AA's where possible, in preference to rechargeables, especially in the case of stored safety/emergency...

RE BATTERIES, for what its worth, I recommend Eveready LITHIUM AA (non-rechargeable) batteries for any equipment you plan to stow away for emergency use. They cost a lot, but they have 5 to 7 times...

Thanks CFwegman, thats what I thought. Ticks me off that the product info was misleading.I will probably fabricate a complete square bracket and bottom mount to that.
