I have the heavy duty dockline and marinco 30amp inlet and ran #10 already. I plan to run a 6amp one bank marinco battery charger, a small 60 watt icebox, 2 small LED cabin lights

surface mount box for shorepower

I just have a small boat. I need a receptacle that mounts on the surface, not in a wall. I'd like to put a gfi in it and then a splash/weather cover. This is for shorepower only. I have no genset....

Speaking only for myself, I'd take a hard look at the DIY seller. Some DIY guys have Mechanical Engineering degrees from Caltech and are fare more talented than any shop mechanic you'd find.

When I am in the slip, the only load on the 12v system is two small LED voltmeters, and occasionally I listen to the radio (no amp/subwoofer). Ref is on 110v.

It's AC/DC. You can run off shorepower exclusively or plug into 12v. It's a great unit. <$200 w/german compressor.
Related question: what are the guidelines if I charge both batteries in parallel...
