I have a 23' o/b cruiser with a 2' draft but to get in close to the mangroves here in SW Florida and fish for snapper, snook or ?? I use a 9' roll up inflatable dinghy with a 3 hp o/b.

The fuel pump is DC powered from the starting battery. If you don’t charge it from a shore power charger, after a while, maybe a long while, it will run down your starting battery and the fuel pump...

IMO, there are almost no truly dual purpose batteries other than perhaps AGM types. All others are simply starting batteries labeled as dual purpose. The worst example are "dual purpose" batteries...

Oriental- Lived there for 5 years. Sailing capitol of NC and very boating/cruising oriented....
