They came out with the 125 to work with the new E-Series, same reason why they came out with the DSM300, just an extra port. the 120 and dsm250 won't work with the E-series.

The 172 series are not interchangable like the older 182 and 188's were you have to buy either internal or external.

Look at the 276c it replaced the 176c and you can also get an automotive kit...
