i agree siren is winning in this .. here in australia the pricing is a bit different. and siren with sensors does add up.. but they do have wireless ones that work well. or you can buy crazy cheap...

Garmin seems to have used some of that Empirbus purchasing and created a pretty nifty solution to vessel monitoring
It would seem to have Siren Marine etc in their sights
though.. looks pretty...

i like the GRID10 being able to turn on and off the system, though the grid 20 being NMEA2K can be handy if y ou havnt many free ethernet ports

i had a 4m with a 15hp merc 2 stroke open tinny then upped to a 30hp tiller steers

but yep aussie boats do favour towing.... and we have more restrictive towing laws here.
