On pump out of black water, do 2 or 3 good 1/4 tank freshwater rinses to make sure all the solids are out, and also leave the 1/4 like JohninFla says... any solids allowed to dry...

The size is not the issue... in calm waters and light winds there's no problem in a canoe. Even if you get caught in something that blows up pretty quick, the size of that hull should be no problem...
