My 2005 does not have rear vents. Do you guys with the older GM crews WITH the rear vents have the 60/40 bench (for 6 passengers), if so where are the vents located? Maybe that is the difference.

I can put my hands on 60w equivalent LEDs and they only feel warm to the touch. The 90w will of course be a little warmer. I think you will be fine with a good quality silicon.
