Awlcraft must be sprayed, so it’s out. Awlgrip is a great paint. I’ve used quantum a few times and it didn’t seem to cover as well.

I’d go with awlgrip.

You might try coating it with PVA. Maybe your wax wasn't mixed in correctly. I usually use 4% wax. If I did the math correctly, you're at less then 1/2 of that.

I’ve butt jointed coosa with epoxy and the joint was stronger then the coosa. Once you cover it all in glass, you'll never know the core is not one piece.
