I normally fish in water no deeper than 300 ft and the main reason to get it would be side and down scan as I do a ton of striper fishing in 10-80ft.

I usually dunk/soak them in a barrel of fresh soapy water when I am done then rinse them off well never had a problem. Soap nuetralizes the salt just make sure you rinse well.

Just wet pack it. Before fishing with it secure a float to it and let the line out as you bump the boat forward, when you get down to the end reel it in and you should be all set nice and tightly...

Correct me if I am wrong but I think a brand new raft doesn't have to be packed for the first two years and then once the two year time is up it would need to be packed every year.
