I unplugged a module that is on the firewall above the recirc door. Problem solved. The recirc doesn't work now, but at least that annoying knocking is gone.

I was not experiencing any odors,...

Chevy C1500 ventilation system problem

My tow vehicle is a 1994 Chevy C1500. I've got a weird problem that just started happening:

When I start the vehicle, or turn it off, I get a knocking sound inside the cab from behind the recirc...

I used a clam shell when doing mine. I also used a rubber grommet around the hole so that the wires wouldn't chafe.

I visited the factory in August of 2003. There's no foam coring in the hull construction. The tri-core composite is used in the transom and stringer systems.
