Well, I've never scene one like that....I kinda like it. Pretty cool that you customized it to fit your fishing style and what works in your area.

Are you pumping the ball prior to starting? I know with my VMax 250 HPDI I need to pump it up if the boat has run in a day or two.

Probably over thinking it.

Next time around get the one with the replaceable cartridge so when the motor dies you just pop it out and put in a new motor.

These pretty much sum it up for me. I appreciate the offer to pay for gas but I won't accept it. If you want to buy ice, bait, etc that's fine. Offering to help clean the boat is also a nice idea,...

Your two batteries are only as good as the old one, so even if it tested fine it might be weak under load. If you replace 1 you should replace both.

Testing 1,2 test test

This is only a test, if it were an actual post you would have been informed of nothing in particular.

Re: any Floridians in the Charlotte Harbor area?

Not much, except they do get you on the water. They're a somewhat stable boat with a flat deck (no steps) that can be used for some fishing inshore and nearshore but are mostly used for cruises up...

Re: Failure at Sea? Single OK for offshore?

Don't you guys with twins feel scared that if one would go then you're putting a lot of strain on the other, raising the chances that it too would quit...I'd say if you don't at least have Triples...

Re: Failure at Sea? Single OK for offshore?

Sorry, but 21-23' boats with singles are plenty capable of going offshore...you don't need a 31+' boat with twins or trips to go. If you're worried something terrible will happen to you then you...

Re: Is Trex for bunks

I would check with the mfg to make sure it has the strength to hold a boat. Composite decks have support at least every two feet with much less weight applied than what a boat would be. It might...

Re: recognizing other THT'ers

Tireless, you nailed most of the THT'ers, but the ones that are on the water are equally easy to spot. They wear Offshore lifevest over their SOS suspenders, have 2 GPS's, 2 Radios, 2 Fishfinders, 2...

Re: 2005 232 Sea Hunt W/225 Yamaha

I've got an '03 with a 200 SWSII and I'm happy with my boat. The ride is very good in anything but really nasty stuff. SeaHunt makes their boats with a sharp entry and a lot of 'V' mid-ship for...

Re: Power Pro...does color matter

From the PowerPro site:
"Spectra Fiber is an especially dense material, and color simply encapsulates the line and wears away with time. This is normal and does not affect the strength or...

Re: Berkley Gulp Question

You'll only do it once if you do. They shrink up into little piece of shoe leather and are a be-atch to get off a jig head when they dry. I do throw them back in the bag and re-soak them in that...

Garmin 178 mono

Jim, I'm considering replacing the Hummingbird FF/GPS combo that came on the Maverick skiff I just bought and was thinking the 178 would work well. Either internal or external (preferable internal)...

Re: Garmin Excitement!!!!

A lot of manufacturers (not just boating products) require their customers to either use MSRP or no price at all when advertising, or selling online. The way around this is that when placing an...

Re: Garmin Excitement!!!!

Timdawn, it sounds to me like 'price fixing' might be a bigger problem for Garmin than what Jim does.

BTW, I've bought from Jim before and will again...maybe pretty soon!

Re: Maverick flats boats

Great boat choice. Maverick's are one of the best flats boats out there, probably because they've been doing it for so long. I recently picked up a used 17MA and after several trips out I get more...
