Re: Launching - Do you unplug your trailer lights?

If you do not have disk brakes, unplug. My last trailer would pop the bulbs about 50% of the time if I dunked them hot. Just make it part of your checklist to plug them back in before taking off...

Re: Bearings hot....need help!

Drums are fine. As stated above, disks cost more and work better. Would not worry - use the drums until they need to be replaced (as they will), then consider upgrading to disks if the funds allow....

Re: Oceanrunner leaking oil while sitting

I have two 1994 Oceanrunners (60 degree V-6 carb models). Both have a small slow oil drip when sitting, but motors run like a champ. Mechanic has never stated this was a problem.

RE: Easiest Way to Remove Fuel from Tank?

I did a search on hurricane fuel and nothing came up. Have a question on this topic.... if you have 2 cycle oil mixed in with your gas, can you still burn this in a 4 cycle engine without major...

RE: How do you protect trailer lugs from rust?

I just spray mine with some WD40 after the trailer has been washed down with fresh water. Torqued at the proper specs + some WD40 and I have never had a problem with rusty lug nuts or removing the...

RE: used truck advice?

I have a 1994 Ford F150 with 302 V8, 3.73 read end ratio, and 187000 miles. Truck is a short wheel base regular cab. I pull more weight with it then I like, and it keeps on ticking. I am close to...

RE: Best boat wash???

I use Liquid Tide with Bleach Alternative after a hard day of fishing. If the boat is not that dirty, just regular boat soap. The tide does a good job at removing blood stains.

RE: 4 wheel drive?

I've used both 4x4 and 2wd. Depending on where you are boating, it can be done with a 2wd, however, I would recommend the 4x4. The advantage of getting yourself out of a jam on a slippery ramp far...

RE: What is there to know about launch ramps?

All above are good ideas. A few additions, spend a Saturday checking out some ramps during the busy season. Keep in mind how far people are backing down the ramp, the people that are using the...

RE: life of batterys

With one engine an two batteries, I say you have a backup if one fails. I assume you have it on one of those multi function switches that allows you to start the engine from either battery. Every...

RE: Whole Process of waxing and the upkeep

Don't use a buffer due to swirl marks? I can understand this statement if your hull is painted, but is it really a concern if your hull is not painted. I wax every year and use a buffer and have...

RE: trailer tire question

Little different topic but along the same lines. I inflate my tires between 35 and 40psi. The max rating on the tire is 51 psi cold. Most car tires have a max rating when cold of 44 psi and the...

RE: Nissan Titan Towing larger boat

Ok… I’m not going to say you can or can’t. I am sure the Titan is a high quality truck as is the F150 or 1500. What I will state is I tow a 25 foot Center Console that with everything included...

Might be a stupid question, but he was ticketed for a DUI. I thought the difference between a DUI and DWI is the level in his blood. Will a DUI cost him is Coast Guard Licence?

RE: Question about fuel stabilizer...

At 6-8 weeks you should not have a problem, however, adding stabilizer will not hurt either. It is best to add when the tank is close to empty to make sure it is all mixed up after the refill,...
