You don't really need a damp cloth, just a clean microfiber will do. Other than that, you've got it right! The surface should look clean, shiny, and smooth when your done.

If your referring to Pro Polish, it needs very little time to set up. By the time your done buffing it onto the surface, you can immediately grab a clean microfiber or Brite Bonnet Pad to remove it....
