RE: Cleaning engine and bilge - - - steam?

I've always been a big fan of using a gel type engine cleaner and a few brushes (old toothbrushes to big scrubbers). Rinse after scrubbing all the gunk loose, then use some greased lightning or...

Just Stopping By...

Some of you elders may remember me... I'm the one who restored that 1974 John Allmand, and fished it hard for the better part of a decade

Although I still own a boat, I've been out of...

Re: Kawasaki should make an outboard

My ZRX 1200 Bike sounds like a boat motor when cruising at 3500 rpm, now that I have changed the exhaust to a high performance titanium pipe and installed a plug and play jet kit in the carbs :)

I...

Re: I/O small CC boat

Stingray boats used to offer a 20' model with Mercruiser power. 2004 was the last year they offered this model - their 200ms. Check their web site at...

Re: Practical Jokes while fishing/boating?

Whenever my guests would fall asleep (too much dramamine or prior night's anticipation), we would always flick their rod into free spool. When trolling, with the clicker on, this has to be the...

Re: Steering frozen???

Steering cables are not hard to replace. Sometimes if the tilt tube end gets stuck (the end that turns the motor), you can free it by removing the steering arm (the link that connects the engine to...

Re: I've got gas bad

Check into PRI-G. The manufacturer claims it not only stabilizes, but can revive old gas. Boater's World carries it. I've used it before without any bad side effects.

Re: Help with 302 IO - won't start

You may have binding or alignment issues with the starter / flywheel gear interface. I've rebuilt a couple Mercruiser 888's (1974 as a matter of fact) and had a bit of a binding issue with a starter...

Re: Nitrogen inflated boat trailer tires......

By my calculations, the water volume of a typical 15" rim trailer tire would be a little over 2 cubic feet. How did I calculate 2 cubic feet? The volume of a 28 inch diameter x 8 inch high...

The advantage of nitrogen? No oxygen, no moisture, and no...

Go with what you know... If the dipstick reads 1.5 qts high with 5 qts of oil in the pan and a new filter, I would run it that way when it reads...

Re: Mercruiser 160 I/O shifting problems
