He is saying - Don't ground it to the frame. Extend the short ground wire from each light to the white wire of the trailer plug. Eliminate using the trailer frame as a ground conductor.

Im sure you will get the MK vs MG debate. I have had both and have been happy with both. I currently have a 55lb 12v MK on a 1652 flat boat that has plenty power for 4-5 hrs with no problem.

There are many reasons for EH brakes to not work. Unless you know of a specific problem on the trailer, the truck is the first place to start looking, beginning with the all time power fuse.

Not one of my proudest moments, but I once ran out of gas in my truck while pulling a boat. I transferred 5 gallons mixed gas from the boat to the truck. It ran fine for 50 miles.
