Ohhhh, the stupidity of divers.

WHAT? Could possibly go wrong.

If my shark shield didn’t keep him at bay he would get 1 warning tap with a spear and then it’s PH time.

19 seconds. The time where he gets a sharp poke to the gill plate and swims away in receipt of a strong message but yet unharmed.

I last heard they salvaged the leg, but not sure how long it will last.

Here's the aftermath...

Geez that gnarly! Is that guy pressing down on an artery with his finger? Looks like he has a belt as a tourniquet. Reminder for everyone to carry a proper one in the boat for these worst case scenarios.

That shark seemed so non chalant. I have always heard they are scary sharks to encounter now you can see why. Wonder how it would of reacted to a poker or a spear as others have suggested.

At the beginning of the video you could see the shark juke and start testing the divers area. At that point the divers needed to be aware and start to get their distance IMO. Hinesight 20/20 as that is some scary shit. I dive with my son and just like that he could be gone from an attack like that.

No doubt about it...

By the way, Brian, I've been meaning to reach out to you. Your uncle, Richard, is the one who got me into diving and told me to reach out to you. My first Gulf dive was off his boat at the aquaculture site several years ago. I've dove with him a few times now. Anyway, I'm going to need some aluminum parts sprayed for my boat so I'll be contacting you soon.
