While most of those places may be idea for snorkeling devilís Den isnít one of them.

Devilís Den is underwater caverns and a dangerous place to dive not to say the least.

Been there and done that.
Wonít do it again.
If you arenít a certified cave diver I donít recommend diving there.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know diverís dive it all the time that arenít certified cave divers but just because otherís play in traffic doesnít make it a good idea.

They also make you sign a release form from liability should anything happen.
Diverís have died in those caves.

Goggle ďDiverís deaths in Devils DenĒ.

I met the guy r responsible for retrieving the body's out of devils den cave run. Retired master navy diver. A lot of divers have perished in those caves. One wrong turn and your done.

I did quite a few dives in Devil's Den when obtaining my Dive Master certification. It was an intense place to dive, especially since they were also putting us through the ringer. Lots of simulated training and whatnot. Don't ever care to go in a cave again.

Back to the OP... best snorkeling I have ever done is in the Dry Tortugas marine sanctuary. The snorkeling south of the Fort and west of Loggerhead was always spectacular. Super shallow so no need to dive. By the way, for me this also ranked above snorkeling in: Aruba, Bahamas, USVI, BVI, Barbados, Cuba (north side and south side), Jamaica, anywhere in Mexico or Central America, and GBR in Australia. There are some great destinations in that list, but Dry Tortugas still my favorite.
