Default Delavan washdown pump fat boy 3. washdaown pump made.

I have a brand new Fat boy 3 washdown pump . For those that don't know these are the top of the line USA made pump . This is the newest version ,its been out for a while now but its not on their website yet . When i talked to the factory the engineer said that the previous version had a service interval of like 1100 hrs . These are used in detailing services and are run many hours a day so the factory made some improvements to extend the pump life (motors are rated for way more hours) . i believe he said 2,000 hours now . dont know how any of us would see that many hours but its good to know . they also sale service parts for the pump so it can be reused for many more years.

bought it for my boat and finally got a chance to install it only to find out it needs a 25 amp breaker and it would be too hard to change mine. so bought a smaller version .This is rated at 7.0 gallons a minute @ 60 psi continuous !

Grainger sales them for 297. i will sale this for 200 plus shipping just send me you zip code .

There was a problem with the PayPal address you provided; payment would not go through. So I am rescinding my offer to purchase.

I have the same pump. I think mine is somewhere around 3 years old now. Before installing it, I painted the body and it has been great. Even better, it quit working once and I was easily able to find the issue which was a $3 or $4 replaceable part. Replaced and good to go.

Well I am here to apologize and I do, I have been having wash down pump problems for the past two years, tried several make and model including a Delavan fat boy, they would for a trip or less then quit, this past weekend with help from a couple friends we set out to get to the bottom of this, turn out the ball valve is bad, the handle would be in the open position but the valve would be closed, if the handle was moved back and forth sometime the valve would rotate sometimes not, I held the valve in my hand with the handle in the open position and the ball rotated open, tapped it with a hammer and the the ball slowly rotated shut with the handle remaining in the open position.

Again I apologize to Delavan for calling their product "a piece of s**t.

Reel 007 . Thanks for the update . Most people wouldn't man up and make their evaluation right . Then others would read the post and think Delavans are not any better than the rest .

Sr SQ , you bought that one from me 8 months ago , How do you like it ?
