I've got a 740 and the refresh rate is to slow.I can pretty much turn a full circle (slowly) before the gps even moves. It makes real hard to get anchored over a number like I need to. Ive got an old portable 276 thats twice as fast. Are the 741xs, 840xs and 1040xs's considerably faster than the 740? Is the Simrad nss9 evo2 any faster than the new garmin?

Gil, could you PM me your pricing on an Airmar B75H and B75M, for a Garmin 840xs.

I'm not sure on the tilt angle yet need to do some measuring.

I'll be pulling out a B60 10pin that was used with a Furuno unit. Should be an easy swap right?

Looking for suggestions for GPS/FF combo with TM transducer for the smallish console of an Edgewater 155CC. Depths usually under 100 feet. Thanks.

The 50s or 50dv will fit most snug consoles..and is priced right also..

I have 4212 with gsd 22. Looking to upgrade to chirp. What would be the best way? Additional unit mounted separate or upgrade 4212 to 7212 with gsd 26 and new transducer. Mainly tuna fish and bottom drop in GOM. Deep drop in 1000+ ft of water. Current setup will not read bottom in anything over idle.

Thanks
Ben

You can use the GSD-26 with you current 4212.
Transducer choice is important...what size is your boat?
