Default Scammer: Beware of Stonerh

Stonerh messaged me saying his friend had a radar for sale. Long story short, he was trying to scam me. Beware of this guy. If the seller doesn’t accept PayPal goods and services, it is likely a scam. Also, his photos were taken from an old THT post.

This is the first I’ve seen using cell phone numbers.

thanks for sharing. Keeps everyone on alert

BEWARE of this guy too. I had contact with him back and forth on text. Never would communicate on this site or call me. Once I said I won't buy unless he calls me I never heard from him again.

Make sure to use the report tool in the PM, so that the Mods can delete the scammer. I just had one contact me the other day, minutes after I posted a WTB ad.

Obviously this dude is a scammer, but I wouldn't take the stance that anyone who doesn't use paypal is automatically a scammer POS. The last few times I've received $2000+ payments from buyers, paypal has tried to hold the funds for 21+ days for 'protection purposes'. The last time I just refunded the money and we figured out another method.

Do your due diligence as a buyer to cover your ass, but there are plenty of sellers who have sworn off paypal and I wouldn't make that an immediate disqualifier.

I’ll say the red flag went up when he said he doesn’t accept PayPal, but I didn’t disqualify him or call him a POS until I did my homework and found the photo he used from another members post from 2020. At that point, I knew it was a scam, so I called him out.

Unrelated but related, lol. Just one more thing to have to weed out. With people into buying B-stock and return merchandise, it's not uncommon for those people not to know what they have and what it's really worth. Even worse is when it's 2 individuals that run their business together without a proper selling platform for business, you end up finding multiple listings for the same item possibly with different prices or descriptions. I see this a lot on FB so you must do your investigating and decide whether or not to proceed. Lately I've been getting a lot of people asking if I can ship my items for sale but I prefer to sell locally and have no means of electronic payment. None I'm willing to use anyway
