Default Repower twins to single engine?

anyone have experience going from twins to repower single engine ? I have a wellcraft 240 coastal with twin Johnson’s 150hp ocean pros. Considering going to single 250 or 300 hp rather than twin 140s

It can be done, we've done that conversion numerous times on different hulls. Some modifications need to be done to the steering system, fuel system, and battery system as well as the transom holes but very doable. You will not have the same low end torque going from say twin 150's to a single 300 because of the cylinder displacements and twin props but it should be about the same top end. All boat vary though.

Thanks for the response. If it was your boat which way would you go? I was looking twin 140’s or single 250-300

I would probably go single 300, you get fly by wire controls, digital gauge, and ease of maintenance on 1 motor. Plus you save some weight on the transom while being a cheaper package on up front cost.
The 140's only come with mechanical controls and weigh in at 400lbs each, the single 300 is 600lbs and your current 150's are about 400lbs also

Single 300 is the ticket. Maybe even consider adding a bracket.
