Default 2008 DF300 prop selection

I have twin 2008 300s and have been running 4x15x26 props for years. I just hit something and banged up my counter rotating prop. BlackDog props are right by my house, but Im also thinking is this still the best prop for a 31 Fountain before I take them to be repaired/tuned? I think wide open throttle is about 5800/5900rpms.
Thank you for your opinion

This is what I got on the boat used. They are discontinued anyway, so if I get new props versus repair I should consider 16

The old 4 blade zuke props were 15" diameter, newer ones are 15.25". It sounds like you have the right rpms and being a step hull is probably why they ended up with 4 blades. You can always tweak a little more but at what expense, it will be trial and error to dial it in any better. Working with prop gods or another prop shop is the best way to go for that.

Just wanted to close this out for people in the future. Ken at PropGods said that these numbers don't sound bad at all for this set up. He doesn't really have a set of props that would run any better. Now, if we wanted to go for top speed we could do that I took the props to BlackDog. I'm anxious to see if there is any difference when they are perfectly tuned.

thanks everyone

I'm interested to know your opinion of Black Dog's work on your props when completed. I run a 2007 DF300 - single engine -3 blade Merc Enertia Eco.

i really dont know how to answer this. I have all kinds of graphs now. I can tell you that the props looked brand new and I gained a performance increase. Id estimate the increase to be about 1kt at cruise. Never really went WOT but if I wanted top end, I go with the 3 blade.

So so many positive reviews on this company. I have nothing negative to say. Call them up and discuss. They know more about props than what I thought possible for anyone to know.
