Default Dreaded 7-3 code

I bought this motor used from OS a little over a year and I've loved it. 26 miles offshore on Saturday I got the alarm and this code and also a message about checking the throttle assembly. Engine ran rough at idle and would only make 5 kts. Once we got into cell range (15 miles) we were able to pull it up on the internet where a THT'er had mentioned leaving the engine off for around a minute. I had only turned it off for a few seconds (lesson learned). That cleared the code and we cruised home. The problem repeated one more time later that day but the next day we went to the sandbar and had no repeat problems. That same THT'er said they never had the problem recur while others said it's a TPS sensor. Do you have any insight on this?

7-3 if for an electronic throttle valve(ETV), its possible it could be hanging up on you. Its the large butterfly air intake on top of motor, could be corrosion, dirt, etc. build up and causing sticking. It could also just be malfunctioning. If it still has warranty, it is a covered component so we could just change it out to prevent getting stranded again.
