Default New England Salt Water Fishing Show - days away!

Another winter milestone is on our door step and it seems that each year I attend this show with a different purpose such as acquiring a certain type of tackle or simply renewing my OTW subscription. This year, I was hoping to attend a seminar about Cod fishing, but in looking over the list of seminars there are none on Cod fishing, which is a little disappointing.

So, what's your expectation or goal for this year's show?

Right now my main goal is just getting there. I am on deadline with a project but hope to finish so I can go Friday as the weekend isn't an option due to family obligations.

I'll be there Saturday. I'm sure I'll be spending too much money on things I don't need. I'm hoping Boat US will have a deal for renewing towing insurance at the show.

Friday for me. I'll be focused first on trying out three different popping rods for tuna. Since all three manufacturers will be there, this is the perfect opportunity to try them all back to back. I'm bringing the reel with me. After that, walk around, look for bargains and interesting things. I'd like to get a swivel insert for my rod holders and a spinning rod strap so I can use the popping rod with my harness.

just make one. 3/8 amsteel or any hollow 12 strand (not poly) and either splice a pair of brummels into it or inline splice it into a loop.

Dont forget to stop by Blackhole. Their Cape Cod Special Graphite or the Nano is really nice rods if you donít mind spending some money.

Cod fishing is closed from somewhere in Mass up threw the coast of Maine, betting that's why your not seeing anything on it, but I am not sure of where this show is held.

Yeah, I was thinking that might be a factor. However, I was thinking of the area south of Rhode Island and West of the Vinyard. As to the show, it's at the convention center in Providence.
