We go out 80 to 130 miles or more south of the Cape because what is available out there is not available 20 or 30 miles out. I we could catch YFT, LFT, BET, blue marlin, mahi mahi, swordfish and other warm water species 20 miles out we would.
Well said! Where the F have you been? I have not seen you in a thread in like forever.

I want something over 30 foot and more than likely something with a cabin.
i know a lot of guys that just want to get out there and fish. They don’t mind how they get there-to have that kind of experience, as long as the weather is reasonable and “safe”. Everyone has their limits though. Mostly those people don’t own a boat and their friends don’t have a giant sport Fisher. I guess you must have friends with big boats. My crew just gets the beanbags out and go to sleep for the ride out and we are all over 40 years old. I guess we just don’t know any better.

Amen brother! What I wouldn't give to fish yellows consistently 20 miles out.

I guess commercial scalloping 50-100+ miles out for a week to ten days at a time cured me of much desire to go out there just to throw a hook over the side, lol

I believe I have one of the most capable 27’ CC available. Has great electronics and am very comfortable running in the dark. However, a 27’ boat is a very small place to be for 24hrs. Especially without a way to get out of the elements. I have fished her from the lanes to the BB buoy and up to wildcat. However I will not be taking her to the canyons.
