Thursday we ran out of Green Pond to Nobska then all the usual spots along the east side MVY to Cape Pope and the back. From OB out to the Hedge Fence, back to Nobska and then through Woods Hole to the north side of the islands for about 3 miles. Never saw a break, except a few small blues. Caught 2 blues a some sea bass. Pretty day for a sightseeing boat ride.

I hit the usual spots yesterday too. I went from Woods Hole down to Quicks and Robinson. I saw one small pod briefly and that was it. The6 came up and then were gone. Ran down toward Cuttyhunk and saw nothing further. Nice day for a boat ride.

Ran out of Stage Harbor this morning and fished from ~7-11. A bit nasty in the channel and the sound, but we grinded out two albies casting epoxies. We saw very little surface activity, but then again we missed the whole drop. Back at it tomorrow.

On Friday I witnessed a bait fish massacre in West Falmouth Harbor at 4 pm. By the time I could get to it at 5:30 of course it was over. Yesterday I saw one albie boated in Woods Hole after running all over the place. Got a dozen 20 inch stripers close to Onset. Burned lots of gas in beautiful weather having as much fun with the boat trip as I did actually fishing.... Nice day yesterday.

I think mine were in the 18-20" range, didn't measure, many others brought on board, but most looked smaller (boat report says 31 taken today). One of the albies was closer to 22-24", really beat me up on my light spinner. Great fun.

Yesterday picked up one Bonito trolling and one FA casting.
Today, ran from Tashmoo to Cape Pogue light and back, basically saw nothing.

Ran into a bunch in ECT NY.
Good feeds but scattered.
Worked for them boated 16 between my casting challenged neighbor and myself.
Sunrise on the water never gets old.

Small window to fish today - 11:45-2 - so ran out of Stage Harbor with no real weather/wind. 8-10 boats working the area with very few fish on top. Managed one albie on an epoxy but never had any real shots. Just not a lot of fish. Heard they were chewing out at the tip of Monomoy but I rolled the dice to stay close. Oh well - next weekend.

Fished Saturday and Sunday out of Westport River. Saturday got out at sunrise which was a little too late. Found albies off the beaches right out front, weather was nice, so could chase them a little as they moved around.

Sunday, got out at 5AM, was a little rough chop (2-4 ft) blowing 18-20 out of south. Fished the beaches again, hard to spot on surface, so took some drifts, fished for black sea bass and nailed them. The albies showed up a few times on our drifts. On the way back in we found some albies in the river.

Just a heads-up in case you are landing in MA and aren't aware, rec. b. sea bass season closed in MA on 9/12.

thank you ! Funny that i was fishing in RI waters but out of MA, legal in RI, not in MA, but really nothing is legal in MA anymore.

We caught about 2 dozen bsb, majority were legal size. We rarely keep fish and had to run to son's hockey on the way home with the boat, so had no time to clean, was strictly catch and release that day.

Thanks for heads up!
Did bump into a CO at the ramp last week (2 Sundays ago), nice guy doing his job, checking the boat for catch. he was checking all the boats coming in and measuring the other boats catch.

Fished Tuesday Wednesday
Tues went solo after buddy called in sick.
Ran out of Saybrook and fished the Gut Plum Sluice Gardniers and Montauk.
Pretty dead every where I went got a couple on electric chicken hogy epoxy jig.
Montauk was really dead no birds blues or bass hanging around.
Wednesday went out of New London with my buddy Jim.
We fished ELIS all the way to Quonny hitting all the spots in between then ran West all the way to the Gut
Ended up boating 7 most on Snax.
2 great days on the water fishing in shorts and tee shirts in the afternoons.
Probably the last days we can do that.

FA's were still hanging around the West Gap yesterday.

Has anyone ever noticed...Since FA's are so picky, I have a bunch of lures of various configurations as we all probably do. However, once I land one of these little speedsters, it seems to me that I can't get them to hit the same lure. Maybe just a coincidence?

A little windy and rainy but I wanted to take a ride.
Ran to WH saw a few schools of bones but no love.
Beaches and breachways all the way to Charleston were dead no birds no fish marked but lots of bait.
Found some small blues East of Charleston.
Hit the wall and found a bunch of bones.
They were picky but managed to get the wife
into some.
She also got some striped bass and blues to 24 inches. Also caught small sea bass in blitzes on bait balls.
She had fun and I got out.
Hopefully get out again soon.
Fingers crossed that Florence dosent mess it up too bad.
Man, the missus is a Bonito catching machine. The only problem is that hat, need to get her a BoSox one, especially after this week!
