I agree that if you can't go huntn or fishn yourself watching someone else do it is the next best thing. But wicked tuna is about as real as professional wrestling
2450CC, Badabing23 and Scalloper like this.

The fish look real to me.....but I know what you're saying.

Get on the show and outfish them. I bet it pays well.

Would not matter if he outfished them. The fish counts like the price per lb are fake and the winner is decided in advance. Sill like watching the rods bent over.

A friend of mine has a hook & line permit. Takes good care of his fish & has NEVER got the kind of $$$ they talk about
I think the 2nd season. One of the boats a husband & wife team got to their numbers & there was a rec boat a (googan) on their spot. The rest of the show they harassed the rec boat. Had to be fake.
I'd have been bouncing 8oz stinkers off their boat

I thought the prices were fixed too. Tylor and then wicked pissa lost by a $1 per pound..

That makes for good tv though.

I do agree with what Timex was saying.
Losing by $1 per lb is shaky too.

I have a friend who knows Dave Carraro. The first year they got $0. A few years back, they negotiated for $7500/trip. Don't know what the current rate is.

The sposors and manufacturers are taking care of them. They make between 80-100k per season depending how many days at sea. Dave C made out on the boat and so does everyone else from all the different vendors.
