And he still would. Not sure why hes not on the show. There would be no need to create fake drama with him.

That was an impressive fish by all accounts. Marciano should have sold him the baits.

I enjoy the show, guys who I have met from the show have been nothing less then gracious, especially Dave C (we have the same day job) and I fully realize everything is done for entertainment value, I get it.

The one aspect of the show, that IMO jumps the shark a bit is the drama of the guys standing around waiting for the “PRICE” especially when ridiculous $ amounts get tossed out to impact the “standings”. I enjoy watching the boats, fish and I can even take the staged fights, googan drama etc, but the “price” act is a little bit much even for me , and I am an admitted “fan” and in general a silly bastard....

Yep. The "c'mon bubba, we need a big payday" and "we'll take it" (as if there's a choice?), "whaddya thing she'll bring?", and so forth are getting old. Time for the producers to find a better way to close the deal.

Wow Hard Merch with an 856 dressed if that’s for real that’s an 1140 pond fish in “The Round”. Beast of a fish.

Hard merch got a solid fish for sure! My wife won’t watch the show anymore and if it wasn’t for the Hookup shots I wouldn’t watch it either. There is something mesmerizing about a tuna rod bent over like a trout rod. If you have never seen GBFT gear in person it’s massive and you don’t just bent a rod with ease. When I fished out of Gloucester I loved going into fisherman’s outfitters and trying to bend the blue fin rods. They are no joke. Other than that I think the show has to keep dumb drama because most fisherman have stopped watching and they need the honey boo boo couch potatoes to bump up their ratings to get another season for these guys that “are just trying to make a paycheck”

Ya there’s a whole lot of fake drama. The silliest thing I remember seeing was when Dave C. hit Tyler in the face with a mooring ball. That kinda thing should get your jaw busted.
There is an entertainment factor for sure. Even with all that can be picked at I’d say the biggest reason I watch is for the background sights and sounds. All of that. Makes me feel a little bit of being back on the water. I ride a motorcycle too.
If I haven’t been on the bike or on the water in a while I’m miserable.
Watching the show helps a little and motivates me to gear up for the season ahead.

I can't believe I still watch it from time to time. The script is the same every episode. Nothing changes.

Any different from Swamp People?
Choot’em Choot’em!
high drama, oh what’s on the line...a gator
... every time, over and over.
How many seasons has that run now?
At least I can relate to WT to a degree, maybe even Dave Marciano’s moments of frustration and perseverance.

Dave - where's jay? Love seeing your kids, they seem like awesome people. Maybe you didn't screw up too badly there.

But, I miss Jay! Is he off the boat or just off the show?
