Guys, thanks for the well wishes. Monday survey can't come soon enough!

@Formula413, thanks.
We hired a nice local who tubed and toured us on his beautiful Cobalt, he had also recommended Boltons landing as an area of operations if we got our boat up there.
The local restaurant he referred us to was phenomenal, trying to remember name..was among a grouping of well done cabins..

The harbor and surrounding areas seem to be improving alot lately. There were whales feeding right in the harbor this year. And whales and dolphins are getting common just outside the harbor. Bald eagles and their nests are becoming more common sights also on the jersey side. With that many people it will never be pristine but things are much much better than 20 years ago thats for sure.

I do get a kick out of those who say dont eat the stripers from the hudson. I mean we know the hudson spawners spread out up and down the east coast right?

Good luck with the boat purchase and enjoy your time on the water. Just look out for the whales lol.

Thanks Fisheron, and yes I was on several ferry trips NY waterway ferry from NJ Transit to Pier 11 where the captain stopped us on the Hudson to observe and make way for the whales swimming the Hudson. Whale tail flukes in the Hudson..was amazing.

Okies, survey went great. One item was flagged as potential issue. Seller/broker corrected and surveyor reinspected and cleared the deficiency and issued updated survey report, gratis. Overall boat condition rated "above average"

Closed yesterday and by next week the boat will be in 'my' slip.

Refreshed with the BoatUS online learning lesson/test. Broker's delivery man will review boat operation with me when delivered!
