Default 2017 Inshore: Jones, Fire Island an Moriches fishing reports

I figured it was time to get this thread started. A lot of good information was shared last year. After a few health issue I decided not to pay attention to all the haters on the internet. We can use this thread just for inshore species. We can start an offshore thread once we get a little closer to pelagic time. I want to wish every a safe and productive year.

My boat gets splashed next week. How about you?

If you are bored or perhaps new to fishing, pick up the April issue of Sport Fishing Magazine. I wrote a feature article on weakfish in our area.

Yes that was a plug..get over it.

What's up Gentlemen- they are prepping my boat for bottom paint today- they expect to paint it tomorrow (its inside a building).

My little Whaler is in my driveway, detailed, gassed up and ready to go!

Been doing some casting from shore and local docks. Schoolies are around. Looking forward to a great season.

Going to try some saltwater fly fishing this season- been practicing my casting and gathering flies too

This was a great thread last year. Splashing next week.

Im a little west as well, jones/debs mostly, but hopefully can share some tips and reports throughout the season for those in the area.

Had little luck with spring run stripers last season, hopefully can drown that skunk this year.

I'm in! I picked the boat up yesterday in Homans Creek. Very short run to my canal but, it felt wonderful. Going to spend the day organizing some gear. My first bass last year was caught on 4/22. Then if you recall we had 8 straight days of the sun not making an appearance. Next week looks like we can really start to see water temps rise.
