They're out there, we found an insane amount of life at coxes on our way out and pounded the area hard for 5 hours before hooking up with a beautiful 62" fish. We saw quite a few fish boils, and what seemed like an endless amount of whales.

Default went to far

There were whales 10 miles west of the dump. I set in and should have pounded the area more but, I troll to the dead dump. Went back to where the whales were in got one 50 lbs BFT and 10 Mahi. I hate it when I run past the fish because of a week old report.

Fished claw to NW corner of the Dump early in the am. Nothing at all.

Turned around ran back to the fingers trolled to the claw. About halfway, Tons of bluefin smashing the surface, completely jumping out of the water (50-100+ lb fish). Trolled hoo, spreader bars, machines, nothing not a sniff.

Looked like the run and gun guys did really well, saw multiple guys hooked up.

Bluefin were chasing "half-beaks"? Not sure what they were but schools of them were jumping out of the water in a "bait shower". Yep, I'm a definite greenhorn to tuna fishing to say the least.

half beaks look like ballyhoo.
If you saw them rain, there were fish around. It gets the blood pumping, right?!? were you trolling ballyhoo and/or ronz/hogy?

Nice bft! Son got his first yft we went 1 for 2 on the double, losing one at the boat south of dump. Coming home, dump was absolutely dead, good life north, lots of halfbeaks and I think frigate macs chasing, but no bft for us.

Landed a really nice 60" BFT NW of NW Corner on an 18" rainbow spreader at 7:30 am right in a huge pod of porpoise. If you find the big pods of porpoise I would work the area hard. I think the fish are there they just seem to only come up a few times per day. Maybe try jigs. Wrapped up the day with the white marlin of a lifetime west of Coxes. There was all sorts of life near Coxes. Also got some mahi and skippies. It was really active north of The Dump. Buddy
boat landed a Mako and some school bluefin as well. Same general area.

Hooked up around 9-930 ish, i did see you go by once or twice so you were in the right area! the fish hit a green/yellow ilander with a hoo. started trolling at 5am and we were marking them most of the morning but it seemed right around 9 they started to eat and a few boats hooked up.

Still sounds like very few and far between in catches anyone catch say 2,3,4,5 or ever 6-10 fish? Last year on 7/2, 7/3 we caught over 11 fish each day and left them biting on 7/3.
