Fireworks - NJ / NYC / Raritan area
#1

I was playing around w/ the idea of going out on the water to watch fireworks. The two shows i'm aware of are the Macy's show on the East River in NY, and Penns Landing in PHL. (i'm not even sure if you can get close on a boat for this show in PHL).
Can anyone offer suggestions / advice? I'd imagine NYC is a shit show. Also - i'm trailering so I need a ramp that can launch a 25 grady and still be open later to pull it out.
There is a good chance I will abandon this idea - but figured i'd see if anyone had a good way to do this.

There's a show just south of Manasquan Inlet in Pt. Pleasant as well, or there used to be. Haven't looked into this year's show yet.
Fleet of boats head south out of Manasquan inlet dinner time’ish and anchor up.
The inlet or navigating those waters after show is over is no less a shit show but a good time regardless.
Enjoy,
J
Not really sure about ramp/ramp times but Atlantic Highlands for NY and Shark River for Pt. Pleasant or NY have ramps.

went to the hudson a few years ago... was an absolute mess.... not allowed to anchor, constantly on and off the throttle... fwd and reverse.
was a real pain in the ass.. and when we left - it was horrible... thousands of boats all full throttle and trying to get on plane.
we had to flash my buddys flood lights to divert a 65' yacht from swamping us.
this year, I'm going to Toms River and anchoring up.
simple and calm

I've watched the shit show from the shore heading up the east river and want no part of it. Absolute madness. No fireworks show is worth that risk.

Haven't done it in a few years, but if the weather is nice(clear) I have rafted up with friends and slept over at tices. You get a good look at fireworks from all over. Depending on the visibility you can see fireworks from LBI all the way up to Seaside.

Not sure where you are coming from, and how far you want to go. But fireworks show in the raritan bay should be pretty decent this year, with 3 municipalities coming together.
Fireworks will be lit off from a barge in the middle of the bay. There a few ramps around that area.

Just throwing out an idea, Jones Beach fire works show on Long Island, come in at Jones Inlet, can anchor up in Zac's bay behind the beach, since you have a 25' could stay overnight, many do.
