Default South of the Vineyard Buddy Boat Thread 2015

Ok everyone, time to start thinking about heading south of the Vineyard. For those who don't know how this works, we post about our upcoming trips including dates, float plans, and any recent information that may be of value. We cover the whole area south of the Vineyard and Nantucket down to and including the canyons. Just share your boat name and the VHF channel you will be on.

We also share information on what baits/lures/spreads are working and what is not. Some of us are even nice enough to report on the results of our trips. East of Chatham trips are fine as well.

If you always wanted to run south but were not confident about going out alone, it is a great way to establish a network of "buddy boats" that will be out there the same time as you. Nice to know there will be someone out there you can call on the VHF if you need help. Please know that this is NO SUBSTITUTE for proper safety gear. Just think of it as another safety measure to add to your emergency plan.

Other benefits: sometimes we head out together and coordinate our trolls in order to cover a wide area, people that are looking for crew can post up in advance to fill their needs, and of course people looking for rides can find them here as well. I hope to have another meet-up at the British Beer Company in Falmouth this spring so more of you can meet up with the rest of us.

This our third year and a bunch of us got started using this mutual cooperation method. It is an easy way to meet some great people and get off shore.

This is great. I generally fish SW of the Vinyard...West Atlantis to the Hudson and corresponding inshore areas. I'll still contribute what I can!

I've spent the last 6 months going through the boat building process just for offshore fishing south of the islands. I'm trailering from central Mass with my boat and I will going on Fridays mostly. I will probably be going with one other guy so I could have room for a third on occasion. I look forward to meeting people from THT!
