Wow, I just saw this on facebook John. They say he was found in the water right by the Marina - Any idea what happened?

Steve at this point no one is sure .

I am sure once the investigation is done there will be answers.

That's horrible. I just saw him this weekend cruising around the yard in his golf cart. very unfortunate

When I first brought my boat to Montauk in 1974 Carl was behind the counter and treated me like I was an old friend. So sad to lose a real Montauk fixture and contemporary. RIP Carl and my condolences to you family

Very sad. I was hanging out with him at the marina Sunday and it was a shock to wake up to the news this morning...

He was one of the good ones from Montauk. thoughts and prayers or his family. Saw his last FB post from the Hula Hut. Peace brother.

Very sad, a real shock. I have know and done business with him for many years. Both he and his late Dad were truly great people. He will be missed by many.
