I drove over the bridge in East haddam on Saturday and could see the buoys in up by the salmon river launch. I dont remember from past years if thats normal or if buoys are in earlier this year, but typically everythings in by early May.

I assume you have no GPS? It will mark the lower channel well enough to get you in the right place. I don't recall any really tight places from say Hamburg cover area out the mouth.

I do have a brand spanking new gps..... My old one (with all my safe routes) went with my old boat. I just worry about sandy and channels shifting? Am i paranoid?

Nope,

The river can be dangerous this time of year, the lower CT has lots of low spots and stuff coming down from above gets hung up. No need to be paranoid if you are familiar and have GPS. Just be careful!

The tide was out yesterday afternoon while we were at the marina in Clinton and I was surprised to see how many pilings are laid out all over the flats. Based on that I'd bet that the river is full of "mines." Good luck.
