Default Boating Safety/Training Courses

Has anyone from MA taken a boating training/safety course recently that they could recommend? Looking for something to get me going as I've been off the water for about a decade and had minimal years of experience when we originally gave up the boat. I have gone out maybe once or twice a year the past few years but would like to become better acquainted with the ocean.

The Coast Guard Auxiliary has courses. Start out with About Boating Safety and go from there. Here is the web site where you can find out what courses are offered in your area:

I've taken the Boating Safety, radar and GPS, Basic Navigation, and Advanced Navigation from Boatwise. Everything is USCG approved and the safety class meets the Mass requirements for young operators.

I noticed they were at the NE Boat Show. For the past few years they have been conducting classes at Russo's in Medford. I took the courses there because they were included in the purchase of a boat we got through Russo. Sorry, I don't have any contact info, but I seem to recall their office is located in Southern NH.

I'm in the same boat You should check out the Mass EP site. I just signed up for a basic lesson spread out over 3 days in March.
