Default Generator Install - Cape Cod

Hello all,

Have a Regal cruiser that had an OEM generator install option, but is not on my boat - I'm currently using a Honda on the platform now and am thinking I might love the convenience of an onboard genny...

Anyone know of anyone to call/email to get a quote? I have no idea how much these guys cost (no pricing anywhere online) and what the scope of labor to install is..

I've heard the westerbeke's are good and the OEM would've been a Kohler... Just want to be able to charge the batteries and run A/C with other appliances (can't do that now).

Thanks!

Can't help with the who can do the work for you on the Cape, but I have priced doing the same for our boat that is a similar style and size on the North Shore. There are a lot of variables, the big one being whether an engine has to be removed, or partially disassembled, or the gen disassembled to install in the engine compartment. I have been given prices ranging from $ 8k to $10k. Before putting that kind of money into an eleven year old boat you might think about moving on to one that already has a genset.
