Default 2240 planing speed

I have a 2000 2240 with a 225 Optimax. It will not plane under 4500 RPM. I cruise at 4500-5000 RPM. This increses fuel and oil consumption. Top speed is 42 MPH at 5800 RPM. Would trim tabs make a big difference?

They will not only make a big difference but increase the comfort and safety of the boat. BTW buy Bennett's they have the best support in the business.
