Default A New Southway??

This could be the new Southway, I hope... I miss that shortcut. I think I was one of the last boats to go through the old cut in '07. I hopped out and floated my skiff over 2' of sand at high tide in late October. By Thankgiving, you could drive a truck across the bar at high tide.

Hopefully this will give us that option again:

Cool. Look like progress to me. I just hope the new break and bar stay deep for next year.

I hope it stays open, although it will mean that Chatham will close down the ramp on Barn hill lane to Chatham residents only! That was the only ramp in Chatham that was free and open to everyone.
If that happens you might want to start a Sea Tow franchise for everyone coming from the sound during the early morning for Striper bight, I predict a lot of groundings in the MI cut.
I am sure the gang at outermost harbor are happy though.

100:1 is the odds I'm giving it, but here's to hoping!

A 23' boat went through it at high tide today. Plenty of water. I am willing to bet this one stays open.

Very neat...loved going thru the old one. Good for shellfishing as well.
