These are from my shop in Westport, CT, on the Saugatuck River. The boat on the trailer that is submerged, taken from the roof top is mine. The Black Duck Cafe was still open, giving dinghy rides to anyone who wanted to go in for a drink/food.

Sorry but you guys don't know what a hurricane is. This is what a real hurricane (Andrew)does. All of these were within 5 minutes of my house. Thank your maker that what you got was minor because the alternate is no fun!!!

That breakwater and gated entry really helped new Bedford a lot....I'm sure it would be 1000x worse if it wasn't there, but thats still a sh*t ton of damage for having it.

Was just talking to some friends in VT where I grew up. The flooding there is unbelievable with several entire towns underwater, cars floating down the rivers, bridges being ripped out by water and buildings collapsing. No wind up there... but apparently the rain lived up to the hype. Check out this video of downtown brattleboro: http://iwitness.weather.com/_Brattle...63/148597.html

New Bedford has a hurricane barrier. Most of the sailboaters headed for there as it was on both the vhf and local radio as a safe haven for the storm compared to other areas around buzzards bay

Don't think anyone is whinning, we just posted pics of the storm surge and damage. I didn't think we had to reach a certain "death toll" or "monetary" value to to consider a storm damaging. Nobody asked for this and we don't like to see it happen. We are not in Florida, for most of us, our season is over.

First of all I'd like to say toSudden Strike; you are a retard. Second to all those who suffered through Irene - I wish you all the best and speediest recovery from it's damage. I vacation in the cape every summer...the beauty of the area, and the kindness of the people bring me and my family back every year. God bless and good luck.
