Default Snow this Sunday

I know it's still too early to tell but what is everyone's best guess on the weather this Sunday? Are we going to get a big storm or not? Seems the information about the weather I receive on this site is far more accurate than the forecasters can provide.

Given the local weather folks failure to accurately predict this week's storms I'm guessing that they're going to overcompensate by making Sunday's potential storm sound like the end of the world... of course with that said I still have no idea if it'll snow or not :-)

I totally agree, but I'm heading up to NH tonight and trying to decide should I take my wife's rig VW Jetta that gets great MPG or my truck that gets 11-13 MPG. Not a huge deal, but does make a big difference on how much fuel we consume on the trip. Happy Holidays guys!

Take the truck.....You'll never go sliding off of an icy road in
a big truck saying, "I wish I was in the Jetta".

Models at 6 pm are confident of the storm being out further east.
The Mid-Atlantic may get a dusting.
The eastern edges up north can expect more than a dusting.
So, somewhere between an inch and a foot or two, LOL!

The latest from the NWS rep:

• The storm is expected to track northeastward off the East coast Sunday and Monday.
• A significant snowstorm is likely for at least coastal New England Sunday night and Monday, with near blizzard conditions possible.
• At the present time, the chances for snow in the Washington DC metro area are not high, but a deviation to the left in the track of the storm could shift the snow area closer to DC, Philadelphia, and New York City.
• Regardless of the final track of the storm, a cold airmass will spill south across the eastern half of the country behind the storm (all the way through Florida) by early next week.

Some people are calling this a bomb for the nyc area, local channels are forecasting less than what I am seeing but people are talking about a potential of 2 feet within some of the bands.

My area on Cape Ann 30 miles NNE of Boston can expect 18"-24" with wind gusts above 65mph if the present track continues.

I fight the storm in stages. 1st the broom....2nd the push shovel....3rd "Brutis", 10 hp of snow gobbling and throwing power! It's all gassed up and ready to go!
