Default Question for Northern New England boaters...

What boating publications do you read and why? Which ones do you find not worthwhile?

When Salt Water Sportsman runs out I'm not renewing. I've tried a few others off the rack but found they were not worth it.

I find On The Water and Northwoods Sporting Journal fitting my habits better.

For general boating (not just fishing) I like Northeast Boating mag.

I subscribe to Northeast Boating (previously Offshore) and On the Water. That's it. I used to get The Fisherman weekly, Saltwater Sportsman, probably others but I don't have the time to keep up with them.

Points East and fishermans voice newspaper, both free and the best material around.

I'm done with "The Fisherman". Almost nothing to read that worth the cost of subscription. My favorite mag is "Big Game Journal".

Since Tim Coleman left "The Fisherman" hasn't been the same.......miss the old timers that use to contribute

On The Water for me

Tried Saltwater Sportsman then they F'd up my subscription, I paid twice and never got it......... All set with them too.........

Fly Fishing in Saltwaters
OTW
Northeast Boating
...Right now at least. I find they all get old after a bit, and I like to bounce around. Right now, I'm high on OTW and NB.

Oh yeah and the crappy advermags from BoatUS... good for that 20 minutes before the plane takes off...
