Looking to add a few set ups this year to Jig for Bluefin.
I currently have a Twin Drag 8k and on a Centur 220gram.
Looking to go up a size (Thinking 10-14K) in both Conventional and Spinning.
What Specs should i be looking for?
Reel: Braid capacity? drag LB minimums? etc etc
Rod: Power? length? Flex?
What do you all use and recommend?. NOT looking to go Stella $$ for 3-4 trips a year TOPs.
thanks
Chris

there are a lot of great combos depending on budget.
a good basic setup for spinning:
saragossa 10k on a terez spinning xh spooled with 65# pp. great for school bft to 150# ish. i use several of these combos for beginners to experienced on the boat. solid, reliable.
there are better set ups. if you want to spend more its easy. this will do fine.

Strictly inshore bluefin jigging with spinning gear I would probably go with a 10k twinpower or 8000 saragosa with 65 maxcuatro. Maxcuatro is good because the line diameter with 65lb is the same as regular pp 50, So you can pull it off on these smaller reels. for small inshore bluefin I would say 400 yards minimum. Game type J rods are sick. I use a 10k stella with 65lb maxcuatro on a terez rod. Have caught a few under bluefin and yellows to 60
