Hi,
I just bought a Southport 28 that needs a new t-top built. Fiberglass and metalwork. I'm in Plymouth, MA and willing to travel but New England is obviously preferred. I welcome your recommendations...
Thanks in advance, Ted

Bristol Marine in Somerset MA has done nice work. Never personally had them do anything but heard great things.

I agree with Stickbo, Bristol in Somerset will get it done. I've had a decent amount of work done by them and they are great.
They deal with almost only high end boats and they are not cheap. I would be willing to bet they are going to be the highest estimate that you will get. They will keep you updated during the whole process which must yards won't. My boat isn't high end by any mines and they were very easy to work with, and we're on schedule.
But like I said they are not cheap, they deal with alot of the yatchs in Newport and sail boats up in Maine.

Congrats on the new boat! As you think about your new top consider that Southport has used a few different T-Top styles on the 28/29 over the years. The most recent design was the largest but many feel the "sport" T-Top style was best overall for that boat and the best looking, too.

I have a high quality oversized fiberglass top from my Jupiter 26 that would fit it very well if interested. White top, fully wired w Lumitec multi color LED lighting and sky blue underside. Let me know if interested. 108" by 78". It is getting taken off in Kingston Mass by Brian at Coastline Tops. He can fab all the metal work needed to fit the fiberglass top. Seems to be right in your neck of the woods. Would probably save you a few grand and will look nicer then most OEM.

Jeff as Seamless Marine, impressive work on my Regulator 23. Was also very helpful when I had questions 3 years later about adding a radar to it! Took the time to call me back even though I was not purchasing anything else at the time. Would use Seamless for any of my future needs!

Jeff (Seamless) was the factory supplier for Southport for over a decade until quite recently (he also supplied regulator with their standard T-Top, before they went to all-glass models). He knows the boats inside out and probably has designs and templates ready to go. His quality is never in doubt.
Beyond keeping my Southport as the same boat yard as his, I have no relationship (other than a series of helpful conversations when I was customizing my T-Top)
Two thumbs up for him

Thanks Everyone. The Southport factory also pointed me to Brian Titone, as he builds their frames. Really happy with what he did for me. Same as the modern Southport but custom rear legs to give it lots of support but still preserve floor space and maneuverability (the fiberglass top is 8' wide and 11.5' long). Brian has a hell of a setup and great crew. Strongly recommended...
