Yeah. They’re a cool little fish. Seems we had a fairly strong show of them the past 3 weeks around block island. Them and man o wars. Gone now.

Does anyone have a guess as to when these guys head south for the winter? I pray they stick around a few more weeks. Some epic feeds on them lately

They were everywhere on stellwagen yesterday, but the tuna left them alone. 90 miles covered, no topwater action for us. The fog didnt help.

yup,
I didn’t think we would see them again but I’ve caught a mess of those recently too.

I also hooked my 3 rd Thresher shark, inshore, in the exact same spot. Two last year and one on Monday VERY close to shore. Had another big shark ( not a thresher) cruising behind the boat for awhile on Tuesday, Got a porbeagle last Monday, on Saturday I was half way up with a haddock on when what I believe was a shark grabbed it burned off some line and shredded the rig And a few weeks ago I got what looked like a blacktip while fluke fishing ! Wtf is up with all these sharks ! I’m not fishing for them.Damn things are everywhere, and different species too.

By the way, there are far more fluke around the areas from Boston north than most people would imagine. I caught over 200 of them in 4 trips this summer.
Over 50 fish on several different days in several different spots!
This may just have been a fluke but I’m guessing these things are around every summer, people just don’t target them. I decided to and was kind of shocked at how good it was.mostly cookie cutter 15-17” fish but I kept a few 19 -20” on each trip. No really big ones but I have no doubt that they are around somewhere. Next summer I’m going to find them! they’re a Lot of fun to fish for.

When do we see yellowfin and mahi on stellwagen?
