Sorry for my ignorance but never really targeted bonita. What is the best method to fish for them? I know run and gun is tough as they are quick and move constantly.

bonitO or bonitA. i am guessing you are asking about bonitO.

easiest way to describe how i always get them would be imagine you were targeting bluefish. when bonito are here they like the same places. reel faster or all you’ll get are bluefish. 4” rapalas, swimmers, 1-2oz metal w/ a 15-20# fluoro leader.

some albies on the troll over the wrecks in vineyard sound.

Have not managed to connect on any funny fish from shore on the vineyard yet. Tried a few of the usual spots. Lots of birds, but so far only connected with schoolie stripers under them.
