Default NJ to start Commandeering medical supplies

The last week or two the gov made it mandatory for companies to report their medical supplies daily. Today Gov signed exec order to allow state police to commandeer medical supplies. They will use the information from those daily lists.

And if they're making them for someone like FEMA I wonder how this will turn out.

That covers pretty much 80% of all facilities at this point since everything is shut down. Sounds like they are raiding the independent surgical centers.

I imagine at best they will get a tax deduction for their “voluntary” donation.

Smart move on the part of state government. Life safety takes precedence over manufacturing or outpatient surgicenters.

Then I'm not sure how this is legal under the constitution. You know, that whole Forth Amendment thing "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated..."

I'm not sure eminent domain covers personal property. Real propriety yes, but not the contents of the property.

The article I read quoted “supplies not yet donated...”. Am I missing something? Aren’t donations voluntary? I can’t believe how many people are ok with this. Not my fault the medical field was not prepared.

disclaimer: I am not hoarding anything, but I find this way out of line.

It amazes me how weak people will just roll over on their rights and freedoms all in the name of “safety”. The country has gone mad.

I didn't see anything in the order about taking medical supplies from the homes of private citizens.

I can't put every detail in the title of the thread. I put a link to the facebook post and I copied the picture from the facebook post the the body of the original post. The picture has word for word exactly that. Did you read it?

From the Gov facebook page https://www.facebook.com/governorphi...type=3&theater
The President should send the FBI and a convoy of trucks to confiscate the necessary items from uncooperative vendors. If they quit making them The Feds should commandeer their factories and distribution facilities.

If the suppliers don't like it. TS. They can file a complaint on the President's Twitter page.
