Having a 222 built ...for the guys who have the same type/ size of boat...what do you think of this dog house/pilot house ..? It is built by romarine...
Don't know what I am doing for live well yet..

I have done a bit of research on pilot houses, for the price they quoted for a basic I think they are hard to beat.

The price romarine quoted me for the whole build is really reasonable...

There are a few build threads on here. Amazing hulls. Very similar to a Contender 21 but three piece hull. I've had one with an I/O and outboard on a bracket. They run great each way and 150-200 is perfect but if you like speed I'm sure it would fly with a 300. Just dial in the weight distribution. Also like that Pilothouse. The control box does seem very deep but gives you and others more protection. The house on mine had 9" overhanging sides and that gave enough coverage while letting me access to rods, etc...
Keep us posted on the project.

I agree about the control box...romarine builds another with the controls further out..with storage in pilot house....
when I visited the shop..it looked like there is 4 or 5 versions..with the same forward window.
There will be a flotation bracket also ...which they build in house.
it looks really nice on his 24'

I believe Todd at Brewster marine built a mold and is now selling pilot houses.

Thanks but...Romarine has been building these pilot houses for years..
The boat is a new build...Romarine is building the 222 from a mold....not rehabbing older hull...

Is it like a Aquasport 222? I checked the website link but I didn't see a 222 model.

This is very cool news. Glad one of the best under 23 hulls is going back into production. Great choice.

As far as the pilot house. I have never owned a boat with one...if I buy the pilot house with controls bumped out...
the pilot house with storage.. will I have less visibility?

I don’t understand the pilot houses with no side protection. Most seem to end at the console leaving the seating/ lean post exposed from the sides.
I guess the issue with extended sides is no room for seating to get in and out to the controls.
Their face book page looks like they just did one with extended sides and a roll down back.

They can make it to your specs...as much overhang as you want...
but like you said ...its a trade off..I guess..
Storage..vs..seating...weather...I may go with the storage with longer top...sides will be close to flush with console...
